On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, William Dale Conrad, loving husband and father, passed away, at the age of 92. Bill Conrad was born October 17, 1928, in Hagerman, Idaho to Loiuse and Gustave Conrad.

Sergeant William D. Conrad, served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1949. He excelled in his service in Camp Polk, Louisiana, Camp Atterbury, Indiana, Leghorn, Italy; He completed his military experience as Commanding Officer, Medical Detachment, Fort Ord, California and was honorably discharged in June 1949. He was a Charter Member of the World War II Memorial Society.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Alice Olivia Conrad of Chandler, Arizona; daughter, Shirley Ann Conrad of Chandler, Arizona; Grandson, Michael Lee Hayton (Rhoda) of Lihue Kauai, Hawaii; Grandson, Robert Lee Hayton (Cindy) of Mesa, Arizona; Granddaughter, Laura Ann Rugel (Rob) of Mesa, Arizona; Stepchildren, Jan Burton (Michael Barnes) of Lindstrom, Minnesota, Tom Bucher (Jill Lundgren) of Lake Elmo, MN, Dede Snipes (Ted) of Vero Beach, Florida and Kris Houk (fiancé Gray Camfield) of Vero Beach, Florida. Great-Grandchildren, Seaver Morgan-Ann Hayton of Renton, Washington; Jacob Robert Hayton (Summer) of Maricopa, Arizona and Savannah Carolina Eloisa Hayton of Mesa, Arizona; William Gage Hayton of Chandler, Arizona and John Hunter Hayton-Rugel of Mesa, Arizona; Great-Great Granddaughters, Leyla Mae Hayton and River Lynn Harris. Fourteen stepgrandchildren; Twenty stepgreatgrandchildren.

Bill completed the Liberal Arts program at Idaho State College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Accounting. Upon graduation, Bill started his career with Mountain Telephone and Telegraph Company in 1953 in Boise, Idaho as a general clerk. The summer before, Bill worked as a groundman for the AT&T company. He moved to El Paso, Texas as Payroll Accounting Supervisor in February 1954. He served in assignments as Accounts Supervisor, Staff Accountant, Property Accounting Supervisor, Separations Accountant and President of the Industrial Management Club until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, who also loved to fish.

Bill married Maria Eloisa De Anda in El Paso, Texas, November 12, 1955. Together they worked, raised a family, golfed and traveled around the country. Bill endeared himself to all who met him. His wise, unassuming and generous-in-spirit qualities made him a friend to many and a source of inspiration for his family. They were happily married for 46 years, until Eloise’s passing in 2001.

In 2002, Bill married Alice Olivia Brown. Their love of dancing brought them together on the dance floor in Sun Lakes, Arizona. For eighteen wonderful years, they loved and supported each other. Although they didn’t meet until later in life, they loved as if they were much younger. They cared for each other and were best friends until his passing.

William Dale Conrad was a devoted, loving and kind husband and father, whose mannerisms and capabilities were of the highest quality. He will be dearly missed by all.

Conrad was an active member of St. Steven’s Roman Catholic Church. Due to COVID-19, there will not be a church gathering. A private graveside service will be held at Valley of the Sun Cemetary, for family.
