Thomas Francis Harrington

The family of Thomas Francis Harrington is saddened to announce his unexpected passing on December 1, 2021, at the age of 84 years. He resided with his wife, Nancy, of 64 years in Sun Lakes, AZ, at the time of his death. Thomas is survived by many generations of loving family members, including his wife, three adult children, eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many.

Thomas was the only child of Thomas and Henriette Harrington, born and raised in the Chicago area. He graduated from Rich Township High School in Park Forest, IL, and graduated college from the Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago, IL. His career as an electrical engineer started in California, with Standard Oil, after which he enjoyed many years of international employment managing refinery construction/operations in Belgium, The Netherlands, and Saudi Arabia. He retired to Sun Lakes, AZ, where he has lived for the last 25 years of his life.

Thomas will be laid to rest in the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, in Cook County, IL next to his parents, and cousin, Joan Hickey. A memorial will be held on January 14th, 2022 for the extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association, Phoenix in Thomas Harrington’s name, are preferred. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude, in advance, for any contributions made.

We will all miss his humor, warmth, and adventuresome spirit.
