Terry Shane Lorts

was born on April 16, 1960 and passed on June 2, 2018. He is survived by his parents, Gloria and Roger Lorts, his sisters, Dawn Underhill and Nancy Instone, his brother, Roger Lorts, and daughter, Cori Lorts. He was an avid golfer and woodworker, and enjoyed building furniture. His love for the ocean extended to creating beautiful salt water aquariums with tropical fish and coral. He was a devoted son, father, uncle, and sibling, and cherished time with his family.

Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 19, he was given only 5 years to live but continued to surpass doctor’s expectations and thrive for 39 additional years. In lieu of flowers, his family wishes that donations be made to Camp AZDA – a camp for children with diabetes.
