In Loving Memory of Susan C. Rosales

Susan C. Rosales, beloved sister and aunt, passed away at the age of 92 on January 31, 2022, in Chandler, AZ.

Simply known as Aunt Susie to her many nieces and nephews, Susan was born on August 11, 1929, in Chandler, AZ to Agustine M. and Trinidad C. Rosales.  Growing up in a humble but loving environment, Susan only completed grade school but was later able to obtain her GED.  Susan began working at Motorola in 1957 until her retirement in 1997.  She was particularly proud of her work contribution to the NASA space program and was able to recount that pride during her 90

surprise birthday celebration in 2019 with a space exploration theme.

Susan enjoyed going to Laughlin frequently with family and was a fan of the slot machines to try her luck but more importantly for the building of memories and enjoyment of life.  She also loved attending bingo nights with her mother.  Susan and her mother were very close, and she dedicated her life to caring for her mother until her passing in 2001.  For this, her family will be eternally grateful to her.  Susan holds a special place in the hearts of her brothers and sisters and multi-generational nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sisters, Josie Garza and Margaret Reyes, and her brothers, Pete, Augustine C., and Rudy Rosales.  She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Agustine M. and Trinidad C. Rosales, and her siblings Agustina Rosales, Gilbert Rosales, Guadalupe Terrazas, Rosa Martinez, Sisto Rosales and Helen Padilla.

If Roses Grow in Heaven

If roses grow in Heaven, Lord,

please pick a bunch for us.

Place them in Susan’s arms

and tell her they’re from us.

Tell her that we love and miss her,

and when she turns to smile,

place a kiss upon her cheek

and hold her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy,

we do it every day,

but there’s an ache within our hearts

that will never go away.
