Steven Lee Ford

It is with great sadness that we, the Ford family, do announce that Steven Lee Ford, 66, of Joseph City, AZ, peacefully passed away on May 22

nd

, 2023, surrounded by his closest loved ones.

Steven, (Steve, Stevie, Slowpoke), was born on March 28

th

, 1957, in Independence, MO, to CJ and Dianne Ford of Kearney, MO, where he attended and graduated from high school. After graduation, Steve became an automotive mechanic which he continued educating himself in throughout his life, becoming a “Master Mechanic.” He also enjoyed building computers, and spending time with his grand and great grandkids.

Steve was an adventurer and nature lover. He was a lifelong jeep enthusiast and would keep the neighborhood birds fed regularly. He could always be found with a camera in his hands, capturing the beauty that surrounded him. Steve was also known for being funny, and a colorful conversationalist.

Steve was preceded in death by both parents, Charley James, and Dianne Ford. He is survived by his only child and son, Christopher Lee Ford, daughter-in-law Christina Scott-Ford, grandchildren, Casey, Cameron, Christian and Cenzie as well as 7 great-grandchildren, his brother Scott Ford and family and his beloved cat Big-Boy. Steve will be so sadly missed.

Steve had found faith within the Mormon Church in recent years and was even ordained an “Elder” on the day of his death. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 8181 N. Westover Ave., in Joseph City, AZ on Saturday June 24

, 2023, at 11:00 am, followed by a luncheon at noon. Flowers can also be sent there.
