Shirley Ann (Fish) Reid

A wonderful, loyal, caring and loving friend, sister, mother and grandmother was called to heaven.  Shirley Ann (Fish) Reid, 88, of Sun Lakes, Arizona passed away on December 14, 2022, due to kidney failure.  Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, LCDR VanCleave Reid, Jr, her parents Stanley D and Edythe E Fish and brother Robert Fish.

Shirley was born on March 1, 1934, IL the first of three children on the south side of Chicago.  She is a graduate of Hyde Park Academy High School.  She married VanCleave Reid Jr in 1959 and moved to Huntington, Long Island, NY in 1964. She was very social and loved having dinner parties.  She was also very active in bowling. Shirley moved to Arizona in 1999 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She was active in the Red Hats, Dinner for Eight group, played Mahjong and loved going to the local theaters in the area with her friends.  Most of all, she loved her family and extended family.  She was a good friend and liked by all that got to know her.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Cheryl (Reid) Crean; son-in-law Stephen Richard Crean; grandson, Andrew Stephen Crean and granddaughter, Jennifer Michelle Crean, all of Phoenix, AZ; her brother Stanley A Fish, his wife Glenda of Overland Park, KS and their children Stanley B Fish (Olathe, KS) and John Fish (Perry, FL) and their families.

Per her request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W Hulet Dr, Chandler, AZ 85225 on Tuesday, December 27

th

from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.  Interment of ashes will be with her husband at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix.

In lieu of flowers, please donate
