Sharon Lynn Ryan

Sharon Lynn Ryan

, age 67, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2021, after a two-year battle with breast cancer.  Sharon was born April 28, 1953, in Roswell, NM to Alma Lynn & T.Z. McCullough. Their family of eight moved to Chandler, AZ when Sharon was two and she called Chandler her home for 65 years.  She was the middle of six children: Carol, Robert, Sharon, Marilyn, Terry, and David.  Sharon met her husband, Bill Ryan, in grade school and they started dating when they were 14 & 15 years old.  They were married in Chandler on March 15, 1975, at the Chandler United Methodist Church and started a life together in a small farmhouse on Arizona Ave in the spot where Bill’s real estate office now stands.

Sharon was a devoted wife and an amazing mother and grandmother.  She treasured her children and had the deepest love for Lisa, Jared, and Jeff.  She especially loved her role as a Mimi to her six grandchildren, Reese, Ryan, Ryder, Will, Tyson, and Alyssa.  Sharon had a dynamic personality that lit up a room and a contagious laugh that would brighten your day. Sharon loved spending time with her sisters, friends, and extended family.  Whether it was a trip to AJs for iced tea or an outing to the Hangar Cafe for biscuits and gravy, Sharon found joy in the simple pleasures of life.  She loved traveling and taking trips with her husband, Bill.  They visited Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Alaska, Canada, Panama, Costa Rica and took many trips to the beaches of San Diego and Rocky Point, Mexico.

Sharon was a woman of faith and devotion.  She loved the Lord with all her heart and one of her favorite verses was Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Sharon is survived by her husband, Bill Ryan, her children Lisa Ryan Whyte (Cory), Jared Ryan (Jessica) and Jeff Ryan, her sisters Carol Havins and Marilyn Chapman, her brother Robert McCullough, her six grandchildren Reese, Ryan, Ryder, Will, Tyson, and Alyssa plus her many nieces and nephews whom she loved so dearly.  Her brothers, Terry Zane & David Glen McCullough, and her parents, Alma and T.Z. McCullough preceded her in death.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, March 20th at 10:00 am at Crossroads Nazarene Church in Chandler at 2950 W. Ray Rd, Chandler, AZ 85224.
