Schulonda Rochelle Ellis

Schulonda Rochelle Ellis

was born on November 23

rd

, 1971, to Barbara Ann and Jerry Finnerson both of Chandler Arizona.  She was raised and cared for by her mother and Grandmother Earlene Wilson.  Earlene was her joy, and she would always find time to spend with her Grandmother.  She enjoyed just sharing stories of the family, making sure she was comfortable and giving her manicures and pedicures.

Schulonda was educated in the Chandler School District.  She attended Frye Elementary School and Chandler High School.  She later obtained her GED and began pursuing her career attending Estrella and South Mountain Community Colleges and received her bachelor’s degree in Administration and Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix in 2016.

Schulonda was baptized at an early age at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. George J White.  She enjoyed attending Sunday School and Vacation Bibles school every summer with all her cousins and friends.

Schulonda had a very courageous, protective, loving, and generous spirit.  She truly enjoyed laughing and have fun with family and friends.  She was a genuine comedian lifting the hearts and spirits of all who were around her.  She was a loyal friend and great listener offering advice and comfort to anyone who needed her. She cherished spending time with her family and loved caring for other people from a very early age.

She met and fell in love with her husband Michael Ellis of Phoenix Arizona in 1988.  They were married in April of 2001 and were bonded from the moment they met. Together they had five wonderful children and five Godchildren.  After the death her cousin/sister Amber Michelle Wilson, she immediately took custody of her three young daughters. Schulonda became their grandmother, provider, and confidant until her health began to fail.  She loved and cherished these beautiful girls providing them with all that they needed and more including sharing beautiful memories of their late mother often.  The girls called Schulonda Granny and Michael Paw Paw.

Schulonda was an amazing grandmother of ten. She loved and adored all of her grandchildren.  She spoiled them to no end making sure she saw them often, attended their birthdays and any other important events in their lives.  She loved to travel and often took the children on trips to Six Flags, Amusement parks and Disney Land.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Michael Ellis, five children; Destiny Brown of San Diego CA, Michael Jr, Damian, Tupac of San Diego CA, and Unique Wilson of Tucson AZ; ten grandchildren Chase Williams of San Diego CA, Cecelia Wilson, Miyah Wilson, Kimora Simpson, Jashawn Jackson, Million Wilson, and Cairo Ellis-Wilson of Phoenix AZ, Diamond, Danae, and D ’Mya of San Diego CA; five God-Children Dominique Wilson (preceded her in death), Denzel Wilson of Glendale AZ, Antwaine, Sabrina and Syreta Ellis of Phoenix AZ and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.
