Russell Warner Brown

Russell Warner Brown, 89, passed into eternity on April 25, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 17+ years, Billie L. Jordan, of Sun Lakes, AZ; daughters, Rene Newton and husband Allen, and Amy Beth Brown, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Rachel and husband Dylan Eavenson, Abigail Wright, and Jessica Newton; great-grandsons Maddax and Carter Eavenson; Brother Paul R. Brown and wife Carrie; and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Rebecca Sewell Brown, and by his parents, Albert and Opal Brown, and brother Glenn R. Brown, of Ohio.

Russell was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on December 18, 1933. A 1952 graduate of Brecksville High School, he joined the US Navy in May 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1957. In 1958, he moved to Albuquerque to join Paul and Carrie there while attending the University of New Mexico. He met Becky and they married in 1960. They were members of Fruit Avenue Baptist Church and later attended Hoffmantown, and Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque. Russell graduated with a BS Degree in 1963 and an MA in 1971 from UNM. He taught drafting and design at the Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute (T-VI) for 10 years. He later joined Sandia National Laboratories and after an interesting career that also took them to Nevada and Carlsbad, NM, he retired after 20 years of service as a Member of Technical Staff (MTS). In 2005, Russell met Billie and they were married in Hawaii. After living in California for a time, they moved to Sun Lakes, AZ.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm (Mountain time) at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Dr NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87113.
