Vivian Ruth Brown
was born January 6, 1934 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Halsie and Virneda Owens. The family moved to Ogden, Utah when she about 11 years old. She married Melvin Jones. Melvin and Vivian had 4 children. She later married Jack Brown. Jack and Vivian adopted their great grandson Charles Keller. Vivian resided in Ogden, Utah until her move to San Tan Valley, Arizona December 2017. She loved Utah and did not mind the cold weather or the snow. She was not happy about the hot summer heat she experienced this summer but she was glad to be with her family because the majority had migrated to Arizona.
She began her teaching career with Ogden Area Community Action’s Head Start program in 1966. Her teaching career lasted for 38 years. For 8 years she served as Head Teacher. She received several commendations and awards for her outstanding dedication. She enrolled in child development classes at Weber State College and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Child Development in 1977. Her classes helped her to understand children better, so she enjoyed her work and loved working with the children and their parents.
