Todd Eric Shepherd

, age 56 of Gilbert, AZ left this world on Sunday, February 21, 2021, after a 17 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Todd was born in Elgin, Illinois, and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 11.  He graduated from Saguaro High School in 1982 and moved to Chicago, IL to live with his beloved grandparents, the late George and Eleanor Miller where he finished college and graduated from Lewis University in 1987. Todd returned to Scottsdale to start his young adult life and built a successful career and life that he enjoyed fully until the end.

Todd was larger than life as well-documented by the many adventures he had and the people whose lives he touched.  Todd made friends wherever he went and his good looks, charm, and vibrancy was only eclipsed by his kindness and a great sense of humor. Todd enjoyed the Chicago Bears, playing guitar and singing vocals, weight lifting, Maker’s Mark, hanging out with friends, good food, good music, riding his motorcycle, and traveling the world with his sons and his girlfriend Julie. Todd had a warrior heart and battled pancreatic cancer with grace, dignity, and a strength that won him over a year longer than expected. His family and friends are so grateful for the extra time spent with him.

Todd was preceded in death by his mother Lynn (Miller) Shepherd and his brother Scott A. Shepherd.  He is survived by his father and step-mother Terry and Sharol Shepherd, sons Riley E. Shepherd, Kyle T.  Shepherd, and Eric M. Shepherd, niece Melissa L. Shepherd, and his cousins, uncles, aunts, and a multitude of friends from various times of his life that became like one big family over the years.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Todd within the next month. Details are forthcoming. Many thanks to all that made Todd’s last weeks special both for him and for his family.
