In Loving Memory of Timothy A. Finn
Timothy A. Finn, a dedicated sports enthusiast and hardworking individual, peacefully passed away on December 26, 2023, in Tempe, Arizona, at the age of 74. Born on January 8, 1949, he lived a life filled with love, adventure, and a deep commitment to family and faith.
Tim, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, devoted fifty-four wonderful years to his beloved late wife, Jeri Ann Finn, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2021. Timothy was a loving father survived by his daughter, Shannon (Ben), along with their five children: Colton (Kaitlyn) with their son Ash, Caitlin (David) and their four children Jayde, Greyson, Stella, and Scottie, Camryn (Charlie) with their daughter Hazel, and Conner and Cade. Among his sons are Brian (Dorothy), and their two children Chloe (Clark), and Declan. Additionally, he is survived by his sons Craig, Stevie, and Taylor. Tim was the youngest child of Thomas Finn and Mabel Stack, including his late eldest brother David (Joy), sister Anne, and brother Mike (Pati) completing the Finn family.
Timothy attended North High School in Phoenix, AZ, graduating in 1968. A sports enthusiast from a young age, he excelled in football, basketball, and gymnastics, particularly on the trampoline. His passion for diving flourished at Dick Smith swim gym and YWCA, where he achieved the remarkable feat of executing the first triple somersault dive. In his senior years, Tim continued to showcase his skills, winning a gold medal at the Senior Grand Canyon games for his age group (sixty and above), a testament to his enduring spirit.
Devoting his professional life to the electrical wholesale business, Tim retired in early 2023, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
After the loss of his beloved wife, Tim embarked on a journey to reconnect with the Finn clan in New Hampshire. Exploring Boston, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, he even attended a Philadelphia Eagles game with his grandson Declan, despite his allegiance to the Arizona Cardinals. In addition to his many passions, Timothy held a deep love for traveling, particularly to San Diego, California, where he found joy in spending quality time with his wife and family on the beach. Sharing moments over drives with Pineapple Fanta in hand. The family enjoyed exploring the wonders of Sea World and indulging in the simple joys of shopping at Seaport Village. The memories created during these beach getaways became a testament to his unwavering commitment to creating lasting, meaningful experiences with his loved ones. Tim's open-hearted nature and love for adventure were truly boundless.
A true family man, Tim shared his love for swimming and diving with all his children and grandchildren, spending countless joyous hours at the pool. His compassionate and forgiving spirit touched the lives of everyone around him, accepting and loving all without judgment.
