Stephanie was born on January 12, 1993, in Mesa Arizona, to James and Joanne Carty. She excelled at Xavier College Preparatory before attending Arizona State University on a full scholarship in 2011. There, she was accepted into the prestigious Barrett Honors College, joined the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma where she was so well-loved that she became president, earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in psychology, and forged deep and lasting relationships, including with her future husband, Scott Ransom, Jr.
After getting married in 2017, Stephanie and Scott moved to New York City. Stephanie flourished in her career as a senior marketing manager at Hudson Bay Company, and the newlywed couple flourished in their new lives together. When the coronavirus pandemic hit in early 2020, they retreated to Arizona for what was only supposed to be a few weeks. But those weeks turned into months, those months into a desire to build a home, and that desire to build a home into a decision to start a family. In May of 2021, their son, Hudson Scott Ransom, was born. And Stephanie’s heart was, and will forever be, captured.
Stephanie’s creative spirit animated many passions. She was a gifted interior designer, as any guest in her home would quickly attest. Her sense of style and fashion were unmatched, always with an eye toward elegance. Stephanie loved to travel, never saying no to the adventures that Scott had planned. And she carried herself with a playfulness, one reflected in her bright smile, beautiful face, and boundless love for life.
But her greatest passion and love was for her family: being a wife and best friend to Scott, a mother to Hudson, daughter to Jim and Joanne and daughter in-law to Scott Sr. and Ginny, sister to Jennifer and sister-in-law to Mike and Rachel. Stephanie’s soul – kind, caring, and gentle – always made others feel seen and loved. And it will always be felt and loved by her family and so many friends.
Stephanie was preceded in death by grandparents, William and Francene Carty and Harris Patterson; brother-in-law Danny Ransom; uncle, Paul Carty; and aunt, Laurie Martin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in honor of Stephanie Ransom. The family wishes to thank everyone for their support, love, and prayers during this difficult time.
