Sherrie Ann Nelson-Smith

June 5, 1952 — October 10, 2024

Sherrie Ann Nelson-Smith, beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Aunt was called home on October 10th, 2024. Sherrie was born June 5th, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois to Vergie Hall and Ruben Lee. She attended Kenwood Academy in Chicago, and later went to Sawyer Business College. Sherrie worked as a Bank Teller and even bartended part time, but it was at Hartford Insurance she found her career. Working at Hartford for many years until her retirement. 

Sherrie had four boys, Antillio, Lester and the twins Jason and James. She was also a loving Step-Mother to Jefferey, Leslie, Lakeisha, Maurice, Kevin, Brandon, Mike, Octavius, Brian, and Godson Kalon. She was blessed to have many beautiful grandchildren, Alexander, Brandon, Jayden, Heaven, King Jaimz, Merrako, Jameir and Antillio.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her boys James, Lester and Jason; her parents, niece Vincentia, and brothers Michael and Ruben. 

She leaves her oldest son Antillio, her loving Sister Tammie Lee. Along with countless nieces, and nephews. For years Sherrie was a strong Matriarch of the family, keeping the family together hosting many parties and events at her home. She always opened her doors to friends and family helping them when she could. As she found more challenges in life later she moved to Arizona to rest when she was finally called. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, Arizona 85225.
