Sara Ann Hetherington Baker “Grandma Sara” passed away Saturday April 2 at home in Chandler, Az. with friend and family by her side. Born April 3,1940 to Charles and Margery Hetherington in Pontiac Michigan she was the youngest of four siblings. Losing her Father at an early age Sara was compelled to follow her Mothers indispensable example of strength, love and independence. She graduated from Michigan State in 1962 with a B.A. in Education and later received a Masters in Special Education from ASU. Teaching for 40 years Sara worked tirelessly to provide for her two children and measured her wealth in friends and laughs and love. She was the richest of us all. Sara is survived By her brother Charles, sister Nancy, son Curt (Amanda), daughter Margery Johnson (Dean) and grandchildren Elizabeth, Natalie, Sofia and Trent. She is preceded in death By her Parents, brother Robert Hetherington, brother-in-law Stu Hutchinson and nephew Steve Hutchinson. Sara’s Celebration of Life will be held at Bueler’s Chandler Mortuary on Saturday, April 9 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Sunshine Acres Children’s Home.
