Ruben Damian was born in San Nicolas De Los Garza, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on March 16, 1940 and peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his family on October 23, 2024. He was 84 years old.
Ruben is the son of Julio and Petra Damian. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth, and his four children, Beatriz, Ruben Jr., Anna, and Martha. Ruben is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua, Jeremiah, Zula, and great grandchildren Noah, Raleigh, and Marley Jo.
Ruben had various careers throughout his life, maintained a strong work ethic, and was well respected by his fellow coworkers along with the community which he served. He received various employee awards throughout his career of which he was proud. He worked as a migrant worker, mechanical assembler, landscaper, and custodial engineer. Most notable of his accomplishments was assembling tractors at Sperry New Holland and building trailer rigs at Fruehauf Trailer Co. in CA, and providing custodial and operations support at the SouthEast Regional Public Library in Gilbert, AZ.
Ruben was loyal to family and friends, and known by his children as a loving father and provider. Early in his marriage he chose to forgo higher education in pursuit of supporting his family, allowing his wife and children to pursue higher education, and Elizabeth to obtain her PHD.
Ruben enjoyed working in his yard and tending to his roses; designing and landscaping the family home. He always brought joy and laughter to those around him, and brightened family gatherings with his stories and jokes.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225.
