Rogelio Cortez

In Loving Memory of Rogelio Cortez, born on March 3, 1975, who passed away on January 20, 2025. A devoted father, husband, brother, and son, he was known for his kindness, intelligence, and wonderful sense of humor. A dedicated engineer, he approached life with a methodical mindset and had an unwavering love for spreadsheets, second only to his love of fútbol. He bravely battled cancer for three years with immense courage. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his children Quetzalli, Tlaloc, Zenón, Ximena, and Luisa Cortez; their loss is unfathomable. His wife, Karla Cortez, misses him dearly and wouldn’t mind a ghostly visit. His brothers Luis, Cesar, and Edgar loved and respected Rogelio deeply and are mourning their friend and confidant. Rogelio’s mother, Cruz Elvia Lujan Valles maintains her unwavering faith and prays for his eternal peace and comfort with the Lord. The Sanchez family speaks only of Rogelio’s resilient spirit and the mental fortitude that he showed us while he battled cancer. Friends and family from across the world grieve for the tremendous loss of the beautiful soul and kind person that was Rogelio Cortez. Rogelio was preceded in death by his father Rogelio Cortez Medellin.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm with a Rosary at 5:00 pm at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85044. A reception will follow the Funeral Service.
