Richard “Rich” John Konieczski
, 73, of Chandler, Arizona passed away Sunday February 9, 2020 at Gilbert Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Rich was born October 27, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to parents, Victor and Sophia. He graduated from Forest View High School, Class of 1964. He worked as a Mason with his father. Rich went on to work in the construction industry and was most proud of the company he started in 1989, Good and Tight Insulation in Machesney Park, Illinois. He was a hard worker and loved to talk to people. Rich is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Elia; his children Mike (Peggy), Michelle (Brian) Barnhardt, son and daughter of Janice Workman, and Barney, son of Brenda Maynard; his grandchildren Ryan (Amanda) Nichols (with great grandchild due in July), Rachel (Daniel), Jennifer, Janelle, Abigail, Jessica, Dakota and Hunter; Elia’s daughters, Miriam, Diana, Sandra, Yuli, Karen and 12 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jimmy, Char, Sharon (Wayne) Balogh, Larry, Lenny; several nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ronald and Dennis. Rich was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. He was always kind and gentle, but most of all he was patient, especially to his grandchildren. We will never forget his corn bread and lasagna. It’s not goodbye to Grandpa, it’s ta ta for now. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
