Paul Romero Medina, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
Paul was born March 2, 1945, in Chandler, Az. and was a lifelong resident.
In his early years he worked on the family farm. He graduated from Chandler High School in 1945. He soon began working at Garrett AiResearch; Honeywell in 1965 and later retired from there in 2013.
He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Marcelina Rodriguez Medina; sons Paul Medina Jr. and Joseph Medina, daughter Debra Aguero, 15 grandkids, 9 great grandkids, sisters Emma Pickering and Maria Medina, and his beloved dog Piglet.
He is preceded in death by his father Pedro Castro Medina, mother Paula Romero Medina, son David Anthony Medina, daughter Cricket Aguero and brother Peter Medina.
Paul was known for his big heart, infectious smile and joyful laughter. He enjoyed a good laugh and loved playing particle jokes on family and friends.
With Paul, gift giving was always an adventure and you never knew what was underneath the wrapping. He was also willing to help those in need and offered them support whenever possible.
Paul had a great passion for animals and had pets all his life. His pets were his cherished companions and they were treated like royalty.
Paul also enjoyed sports. In his younger years he was an avid athlete and enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, golf and running. He also had a passion for collegiate and professional sports. He enjoyed going to Arizona State University baseball and football games and supported ASU Athletics. He was also a lifelong Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankee fan, cheering on the teams whenever they played.
Paul’s biggest passion was his family. He worked hard to provide them with a good life and never left them wanting. He enjoyed coaching or watching his kids play sports, always offering his fatherly advice.
Later, along with his wife Marcelina, he could be seen carrying their lawn chairs to the fields to support his grandkids as they carried on his passion for the game.
Paul passed peacefully with a room full of loving family members by his side. He will be missed by his family and friends but his legacy will continue to live on in their hearts.

Viewing will begin at 8:00am with the Rosary Service to begin at 8:30am, Friday, May 19 at Bueler Mortuary in Chandler, Arizona.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:00am, Friday, May 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chandler, Arizona.
