Norma June Barnette was born October 26, 1942 in Mesa, Arizona and passed away on January 4, 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 81. She attended Arizona State School for the Deaf in Tucson, Arizona for most of her educational years. Norma was creative and developed talents in crocheting, ceramics, jewelry making and upholstery. Things that gave her joy were cats, reading, playful teasing, puzzles, ice cream and playing games, especially Uno.
Norma had a strong belief and love for her Savior, Jesus Christ and often prayed for people she loved. She is now free from the constraints and limitations of this mortal existence and reunited with her loving parents and grandparents.
Norma is proceeded in death by her parents, Russell P. Barnette and Ila Rose Johnston Barnette.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Sarah) and grandchildren, Peyton, Logan, Teagan and Broden.
She is also survived by her siblings, David (Kay, deceased), Bob (Connie), Barbara Allen (Mike) and Dan and many nieces and nephews.
With heartfelt gratitude, her family thanks the many staff and caregivers from Rise, Inc., that so generously and kindly cared for Norma for more than 20 years. You were her angels on earth.
