Mildred “Millie” Betcher

Mildred “Millie” Betcher

of Mesa, AZ, joined her husband of 57 years “Herbie” and grandson Kevin in heaven on April 7, 2017 at the age of 87. She was born Mildred Mary Day on June 7, 1929 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She married Herbert Betcher on September 1, 1951 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She and Herb immigrated to Southern California in 1956. She worked as a loan service advisor for Glendale Federal Savings while raising her son Brian.

As avid golfers, she and Herb retired to Crystalaire Country Club in Llano, CA in 1991. In 2004 they relocated to Trilogy at Power Ranch in Gilbert, AZ to be closer to their son’s family. In June 2014 Millie moved to Bella Vista Senior Living in Mesa to continue her life as an independent senior, making many new friends. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Brian and Jana Betcher; her granddaughter Nora Payne and husband Lewis; granddaughter Elyse Betcher; and two great grandchildren, Sidney and Bradley Vandenhaak.

Millie had friends and relatives spread all over the place so a time and place for a memorial service has not yet been set. In the mean time the family would encourage friends and family to share any funny stories or special memoires of Millie on-line through Bueler Chandler Mortuary at www.buelermortuary.com. As an option to flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to either The Salvation Army or The Wounded Warrior Project.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held Saturday, May 20 at 3:00 p.m. at

Sun Valley Community Church – Tempe, in the Chapel

6101 S. River Road

Tempe, AZ 85283
