Michael "Mike" William Myers

d. December 30, 2023

Michael “Mike” William Myers, 48, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on December 30, 2023 after battle with an extended illness. His family and friends are extremely saddened by his sudden passing.

Mike was passionate about music, especially rock and metal with his favorites being Elvis Presley, Metallica and Social Distortion. Anyone that knew Mike, knew he had a true passion for music. His passion for music led him to form his own rock band with his brother Jason, and friends Hunter and Ken. Previous band members Jack and Landon also helped shape Mike’s musical songwriting and the band. They named the band Riot/Gear and played different venues throughout Phoenix. Mike was the bass player and accompanied his brother’s drums, a sound unique to brothers. He was truly happy playing for live audiences.

Mike loved classic muscle cars with his favorite being the ’68 - ‘72 Chevy Nova. He had a knack for finding Chevy Novas in need of repair. He had unbelievable talent for fixing up these Novas and making them like new again. Once they were fixed up, he would sell them and turn around and find his next Nova project. Mike knew cars in a way no one else did and was always helping family and friends with their vehicles. Mike was always willing to help anyway he could to fix someone’s vehicle for them.

Mike loved his family especially his brother, Jason and nephew, Gavin. He was extremely close this brother his whole life. He was also close to his best friend Gabe Romero, who he has known over 30 years and treated like a second brother.  Mike, Jason and Gabe use to go out to the clubs in their younger days with their favorite spots being Club Rio and Andersons 5th Estate. It was their favorite weekend activity.

Mike loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was his favorite team. Every Sunday, Mike would watch and hardly ever missed a game. His favorite player was Hines Ward, #86. He and his brother would talk about and analyze every play. He also liked the Phoenix Suns and would often attend games with his brother.

Before his passing, Mike got to go on a cross-country road trip with his brother and family. Mike got to fulfil a few bucket list items which were to see Graceland-Home of Elvis Presley in Memphis, TN, Hines Field (now Acrisure Stadium) home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Rock-in Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH and the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH.

Mike will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his brother Jason Myers, nephew Gavin Myers, best friend Gabe Romero and sister-in-law Andrea Myers. We love you, Mike!
