Michael, known to all as “Mike” was born in Carson City, Michigan to Harold Michael and Mary Margaret (Piggott) Dawson on July 23, 1944, and entered eternal rest on May 6, 2024, in Chandler, Arizona. 

Mike is a 1963 graduate of Lowell High School, Lowell, Michigan, where he enjoyed playing tennis and was often found skating and skate dancing at the Lowell Roller Skating Rink. 

On October 10, 1964, he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Font, of Ionia, Michigan.  Together they raised four children, Michael (Dianne) of Elkton, Maryland, Laura Andrews of Westminster, Colorado, Kelly Arredondo Ford and Christopher both of Chandler, Arizona.

Mike proudly served in the US Army and Army Nation Guard for 31 years and enjoyed sharing many of his military adventures with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia, his four children, 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. His sisters Kay (Ben) DeVries and Karon Shepard, both of Byron Center, Michigan, brother-in-law Philip (Rose) Font of Ionia, Michigan, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends.   He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held on July 20, 2024 at Canterbury Estates Community Room, 360 E. Tuttle Rd., Ionia, Michigan at 12:00 pm with Internment on July 22, 2024 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta, Michigan at 1:30 pm.
