Marjorie Elizabeth Orn

Marjorie Elizabeth Orn was born in Burkenhead, England on January 2nd, 1938 and passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on March 1st, 2025.

She moved with her family to Southend-On-Sea, England as a teenager, where she later met Richard Orn, a member of the US Air Force. They were married in 1959 and she became a military wife. Together they raised 2 children, Karen and Rick. They shared 66 wonderful years together, traveling the world with the Air Force and living in England, Kansas, Turkey, Berlin, Colorado, Grafenwohr, Germany, New York and finally settling in Chandler, Arizona.

She lived a full and joyful life. She enjoyed trips to England and San Diego to visit family. She also enjoyed taking long walks, reading books, getting together with her friends, playing dominos and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the British Wives Club and enjoyed going to their get togethers.

After raising her children, she worked at Chandler High School as a childcare development associate for 16 years and she was very proud of the work she did there.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Haughton and three sisters (Barbara, Norma and Maureen). She is survived by her husband Richard, children Karen (Randy Howell) and Rick, sister Elizabeth (John Snelling) and her beloved dog Penny.

She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Her Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 10:00 am at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary Chapel, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arizona Humane Society or American Cancer Society in her name.
