Lorraine Viola Martinson

Lorraine Viola Martinson passed away on February 18th, 2025 at Bella Vista Senior Living in Mesa, Arizona. 

Lorraine was born to John and Elise Tingwall on March 22nd, 1923, in Todd County Minnesota. On March 12, 1946, she married Alvin E. (Bud) Martinson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lorraine and Bud had two daughters, Rita and Deborah. They moved to Arizona in 1961 for Bud’s health. They celebrate 46 years of marriage until Bud’s passing in 1992. 

Although Lorraine spent most of her time as a homemaker taking care of her family, she also worked at Weibye’s Grocery store in Eagle Bend, Minnesota and Hayden Flour Mills in Tempe, Arizona. Her hobbies included card playing jigsaw puzzles, reading, and enjoying the company of her friends at Bella Vista Senior Living. 

She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and volunteered many hours at the church office of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chandler, Arizona. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband. Lorraine is survived by her daughters Rita (Jim) Ford and Deborah (Tom) Perleberg; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Her remains will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at a future date. Internment ceremony will be held privately.
