Kent James Hasper

January 30, 1954 — November 30, 2024

Kent James Hasper, beloved brother, uncle, and friend, passed away after an extended illness on November 30, 2024. He was 70 years old.

Kent was born in Colorado Springs, CO on January 30, 1954, to James and Helen Hasper, their firstborn. From Colorado, he moved with his parents to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he grew up with siblings, Kris, Karen, and Kevin joining the family. After graduating from Coronado High School in Scottsdale, he joined the Forest Service in Payson for a short time. He then moved to Tucson where he connected with and thrived in the theater community. He traveled the US and the world with Broadway shows, including Annie, Evita, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, The Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, The Producers, Les Misérables, and Wicked. His commitment to excellence and safety behind the scenes contributed to successful shows all over the world.

Beyond his theater family, Kent enjoyed spending time with his parents, siblings, and nieces – who he dearly loved -often making it home for a few days during the holidays. If he couldn’t be there he was sure to call, sharing a laugh for a few minutes, even if it was between shows.

After retiring from life on the road, he enjoyed fishing, handing out candy to throngs of Trick-or-Treaters at Halloween, driving his new Truck, following and attending many auto races and NHRA drag races, and being a good friend and neighbor to all. He always had a kind word and a ready laugh.

Kent is survived by siblings Karen and Kevin (Sheryl), nieces Emily (Trevor) Pittmann and Anna ( Jacob) Goldman and great-niece Mille Kay Goldman.

He will be missed by all who knew him. In honor of Kent, take time to go fishing!
