Katherine Dewitt

Katherine Mae DeWitt, 68, of Gilbert, and formerly of Tucson, AZ, passed away November 20, 2015 in Chandler. Born on Oct. 18, 1947 in Wilkesbarre, PA to William and Betty (Proferes) DeWitt, Katherine moved from Clearwater, FL, to Tucson seven years ago. She enjoyed a wonderful career as a free-lance writer, creating poetry, short stories and other works that were published in various magazines. She always had a kind word and had a gift for making people feel special and appreciated. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, John DeWitt. Services and interment will take place in Clearwater, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kids ‘N’ Cancer, c/o St. Irene Philoptochos, 2716 N. Dobson Rd., Chandler, AZ 85224
