, age 79 was granted her angel wings on November 22, 2020 in Chandler, Arizona.   Her last words were “I Love You” to her beloved husband Reid.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Springs Church in Chandler on December 12

th

at 1:00 pm.

Joyce was born to the late Tom and Willie McGary on April 11, 1941 in Brownwood, Texas.  She graduated from Andrews High School, Andrews, Texas in 1958.

Joyce married Reid Fitzgibbons in 1967, and they lived in Andrews, Texas and the Middle East until 1979 when they made Arizona their home. Joyce is survived by four children: Joni Summitt of St. Helena, California: John, Jennifer Bamman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: Robert, Luan Denney of Danville, Indiana; Sam, and Kim Kile of Danville, Indiana; Tracy. She is also survived by her niece Terri Duffy. Joyce has six grandchildren which she cherished Dylan, Kamron, Heather, Grant, Bryce and Nicole.  She was blessed with great grandchildren, Brycin, Tayler, Rylee, Cameron, Adalyn, Russell, Jace, Lydia, Margaret and Caroline. Her son Brent Summitt predeceased in 2019. Her sister Wilma Perkins predeceased in 2009.

Joyce was a marketing account manager but her true love was decorating and shopping.  She was always impeccably dressed from her head to her toes.  She took great pride in her appearance and her nails were always beautiful.  Joyce was a highly creative artist and enjoyed painting. She loved her church and the friends she made in Bible Study.  She also enjoyed traveling especially when living in the middle east.  She loved her family and was the one they turned to for advice.  She would have been married to her beloved “Reid” for 53 years on December 9
