Joseph Jay Aposhian
, beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed to the other side with his daughter Melinda by his side on April 22, 2021. He was born October 12, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Nida Lucille Newton and Joseph L. Aposhian.
He moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1959 with his family. He later met and married his sweet wife Ada Allene Claxton, on August 23, 1963. They welcomed seven children into their family: Joe, Tammy, Bret, Brian, Kevin, Megan and Melinda. He loved his family most of all. He had a strong faith in his Savior Jesus Christ, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He loved hunting with his brothers and sons, cooking, camping, teasing his sisters, and most of all being with his family! He loved supporting his sons and grandsons in scouting. He wore many hats in his life, from chef’s hat as owner of Jay’s Coffee shop and a sandwich shop to probably his favorite hat, as Santa! So many people loved him! He loved trips to Disneyland! He had one regret and that was, not being able to take his granddaughter Savanna to Disneyland one more time!
It’s definitely a party on the other side where he joins his parents, brothers, one sister, a granddaughter and a grandson and many other family members and friends. He is survived by his sweet wife Ada, all of his 7 children, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a sister.
