Josefa Alicia Jurado

was born on October 31, 1960, to Manuel & Elsa Munguia in Terry County, Texas. On June 2, 1978, Josefa married the love of her life, Juan Jurado. Josefa and Juan were happily married for 42-years and had 4-children together, Raimy, Jose, Tony, and L.J, along with 2 step-children. Over their 42-years of marriage, Josefa and Juan had 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Josefa had a personality that was big as life! She was outgoing, funny, loving, and caring. She could make you laugh like no one else could.  She always put her family first and had the absolute biggest heart. She would give the shirt off her back to a stranger and always went out of her way to help others and to help brighten someone’s day just because. Josefa was the definition of an unselfish person. Josefa was the person you loved the second you met her and always left an amazing impression. Wherever she went, she was able to make friends. She loved sports, was incredibly competitive, and would be the loudest cheerleader at family’s sporting events and celebrations even if she wasn’t feeling well. She loved taking yearly family trips to California, especially Disneyland. Josefa enjoyed spending time with her siblings Molly, Manuel III, and Sylvia. She enjoyed going to the hot springs with her sister Molly, indulging in chocolate cake and shopping. You could always count on Josefa to take long road trips to escape the heat, see her grandchildren, or just because. Halloween was her favorite holiday and one of her favorite things was to dress up every year with her sisters. We truly lost an incredible Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend, and person on January 4, 2021. Josefa will always be deeply missed, deeply loved, and will always be with her family and friends in their hearts.
