On the evening of Feb 11, 2023, John Maurice Rainey 84 of Chandler, AZ died. John was born April 30, 1938, to Frank and Elizabeth (Patterson) Rainey in Pittsburgh, PA.
As a young man, John served in the US Navy for nine years as a parachute rigger and did have a pilot requiring the use of his chute. In 1964 he was hired as a Field Service Rep and advanced to the position of Vice President –National Sales Manager with Questor Corp/AP Mufflers of Toledo, Ohio (1984). He worked in similar industries until his retirement in 1996. He also developed automotive sales agencies and a transportation Company during his career. His love of boating on Lake Erie with his children was his favorite pastime always looking for a sailboat race.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Grimm) of Chandler, AZ; daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Eischen (Jeffrey) of Temperance MI and son, John (Laurie) Rainey of Queen Creek, AZ. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren Michelle (Cory) Schmidlin of Waterville, Ohio; Matthew Rainey; Christian Rainey and Jacob Rainey all of Arizona; Jeffrey Eischen Jr. (Jamie); Christopher Eischen (Samantha) of Michigan; 5 Great Grandchildren Theo Schmidlin; Michael Eischen (Melanie); Isabella Eischen; Jeffrey Eischen III; and Josephine Eischen. Also surviving is a cousin, Joel Dickson (Suzanne) of New Jersey.
