Joan L. Collins

Joan L. Stark Collins, 90, formerly of Momence, IL died peacefully Friday, April 11, 2025 in Chandler, AZ.

She was born May 17, 1934, the daughter of Joseph A. and Anna Veda Goggins Stark in Kankakee, IL. She attended Bradley HS and graduated from Momence HS. Joan was a lifelong homemaker, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family, sewing, reading, decorating, especially Santa Clauses, crafting, games and puzzles and was a dedicated volunteer at schools and churches.

Joan married John (Jack) Collins in 1954, and they enjoyed almost 60 years together until his death in 2014. She is loved and missed by her children and their spouses, Terri and Jerry Buser, Michael and Lucille Collins, Kathleen and Angelo Lombardi, Erin and Dan Schroeder, daughter-in-law Becky Collins, Shannon and Keith Estes, and Jeremy and Arian Collins, her brother and sister-in law, Thomas and Mary Stark, sister-in-law Mary Susan Collins and brother-and-sister-in-law Dean and Mae Collins, 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents, sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Thomas Shelby, brother-and sister-in-law James and Patricia Collins, son Padraic, and daughter Colleen.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Juan Diego Catholic Church, 3200 S. Cooper Road, Chandler, AZ.

A Visitation will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Cotter Funeral Home in Momence, IL. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Momence, IL. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.
