Joan Carl, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on October 10, 1944, Joan devoted her life to her family, her faith, and her passions, leaving a legacy of kindness, strength, and love.

A skilled hairdresser and talented pianist, Joan shared her gifts with her community in countless ways. She served as the pianist for her church, where her music brought comfort and inspiration to her congregation. Joan loved being surrounded by her church friends, whom she considered family. Her faith as a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints guided her life and actions.

Joan married the love of her life, Barney Carl, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Their home was always open to people in need, reflecting Joan’s generous spirit and deep compassion. She was an advocate who taught her children to stand up for themselves and others, embodying resilience and courage.

She found joy in the simple but meaningful pleasures of life—cultivating her roses, gathering family for meals she lovingly prepared, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Joan’s nurturing nature and fierce love made her the cornerstone of her family.

Joan is survived by her twin sister, Judy; her daughters Stephanie, Tamara, and Carrie; her sons Kevin and Justin; her step-sons Faron, Brian, and Curtis; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She joins her beloved husband Barney, who passed away in December 2021, in eternal rest. Their shared love of music lives on as they make music together once again.

Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of so many. 

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 8:00 am - 9:30 am at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225 , followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 am at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
