Jillian Marie Flynn

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jillian Marie Flynn at the age of 42.

Jilly was born on July 30th, 1982 in Palos Heights, IL. She is survived by her husband David Elliott Gray, their 3 and a half year old son, Flynn Elliott Gray, father Michael Colin Flynn and mother Susan Marie Flynn, sister Tamara Susan Flynn and brother Jamieson Michael Flynn, niece Emery Harper McAtee and nephew Colin Lance McAtee, and tiny guard dog, Karl.

Jillian was a beacon of sweetness, kindness and optimism. She was the purest of friends and a natural born leader. Whether as a VP of marketing, a drill team Saber Captain, or president of the Delta Gamma sorority at the University of North Florida, our Jilly always rose to the top. She adored spending time with friends, silly dancing, and loved her Chicago Bears. She was passionate about planning parties and events, and really just organizing things in general. Jillian was always available to a friend in need and she provided space with a calm authenticity. Bearing her fearless smile and an unbreakable resolve, Jillian faced down her cancer as she faced life; head on with unwavering strength. She leaves a hole in our hearts that will never be filled, but also an inspiration that cannot be equaled. 

“Please don’t say I lost my battle to cancer. Cancer needs a body to live and to grow…I am taking out the cancer. If I die, it dies. I didn’t lose, I won.” On November 30th, 2024 Jillian passed away at home surrounded by family and love from around the world, knowing in the end she had won.

A Celebration of Life in Jillian's honor will be organized at a later date, details forthcoming.
