JILL “SUGAR” HICKEY
February 5, 1973 – January 8, 2022
OBITUARY
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jill “Sugar” Hickey. Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother (“Sugar”) passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the age of 48. Jill courageously battled a chronic health condition for over 10 years and is now finally at peace in Heaven.
Jill was a servant of the Lord and represented that forgiving, unconditional love to everyone. She made a lasting impact on those she came in touch with and never knew a stranger. She was kind, warm, genuine, and you could feel the love in her voice as she was always selflessly present with your sincere interest at heart. During her long battle and hundreds of hospital visits, Jill would comfort, uplift and inspire anyone fortunate enough to come in her presence. Amazingly, she always shared how fortunate she was for the encounter and how touched and loved she felt by the individual she comforted. This inspirational authenticity provides a small glimpse into the true essence of Jill. She was an angel on earth who brought out the best in you and made you a better person. Although we will never be the same, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and the promise that we will be reunited with her one day. Until then she is forever in our hearts and her legacy lives on within us.
Jill is survived by her husband Andrew; daughters Darian (Clouse), Jayden (Freeman), Taylee, Chloe and Lou-Lou (best girl Pug); granddaughters Indy, Briar, Alice and Beck; parents Jay & Melody Ellingson; sister Kelli (Mechem); and brothers Jayson, Chad, Eric and Martin. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, nephew Jayke (Ellingson) and best girl Sophie (Chihuahua).
