Jill Stranger
, age 77, of Chandler, Arizona, formerly of Mayville, North Dakota, passed away at home on Friday, May 20, 2022 after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Jill was born June 4, 1944 in Everett, Washington, the daughter of the late Fred and Venethal (Babe) Stranger. She was raised in St. Vincent, Minnesota and graduated from Pembina High School in 1962. Jill then attended and graduated from Aaker’s Business School in 1963. Jill’s working career was in the banking industry. She worked for 31 years at the Goose River Bank in Mayville, North Dakota retiring in 2012.
She loved to spend her time with her family and friends and playing cards. She took up golfing when she was older and even accomplished a hole-in-one. Jill loved to shop and loved to go shopping with her family.
Jill is survived by her daughter, Deb (Randy) Hurtt, Hoople, ND; her brother, John (Sharon) Stranger, Grand Forks, ND; her grandchildren: Melissa (Travis) Vanyo, Grand Forks, ND; Justin Dewald, Streeter, ND; Levi Hurtt, Hoople, ND; six great grandchildren: Tatum, Tyson, Taryn and Gracie Vanyo and Beckett and Bristol Dewald; her life partner, Tom Gillis, Chandler, AZ and her precious Pomeranian, Sadie. She was preceded in death by her son, Jim Day; parents, Fred and Babe Stranger, brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Doris Stranger.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Inurnment will be at the Pembina Cemetery.
