Ian Kaufman, born December 2, 1963, on Long Island, New York, passed away on October 30, 2023, in Chandler, Arizona. He was 59 years old.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack, and his mother, Phyllis. Ian is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Elena (La Paglia), his daughters Mollie and Megan, his sisters Sherri (Jay) Eisenstadt and Adrienne (Phil) Katz, and countless nieces and nephews in New York and in Arizona whom he also adored.
Ian graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. He embarked on a fulfilling career that began as a financial analyst but ultimately revolved around his passion for technology. Ian worked as a software engineer and technical project manager at several large private institutions, but most recently, he served as the information systems manager for the Arizona Department of Transportation.
In addition to his professional life, Ian had a deep love for sports, especially the New York Jets. His other passion was music and he enjoyed attending Grateful Dead and Dead & Company concerts. However, his greatest joy came from his family. He cherished his wife and two daughters, and his dedication to them was unwavering.
Ian was known for his quick wit, love of jokes, and his ability to engage in playful banter, often centered around silly and childish humor with his wife, daughters and substantial group of Arizona in-laws.
A memorial service to celebrate Ian's life will be held at Bueler Chandler Mortuary,
14 West Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225 on Sunday, November 5th, at 1:00pm. Memorial donations may be made to FIDF, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.
Ian Kaufman's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.
