Mary Lou Harrington, 67, of Chandler Arizona, passed away at home surrounded by family on October 5
th
, 2023, after a long battle with multiple myeloma.
Mary was born on May 13, 1956, to Earl and Beverly Sivesind in Waterloo, Iowa.
Mary met Dell Harrington in Simi Valley, California and were Jr. High school Sweethearts. In 1977, Mary and Dell married and went on to raise 2 children, Shelly and Derek. Mary and Dell celebrated 46 beautiful years of marriage.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Dell, daughter Shelly, son-in-law Jeff Nice and granddaughters, Lexi and Brooklyn Lou, son Derek (United States Navy AWF1 (Retired)) and daughter-in-law Heather and grandsons Nathan and Justin.
Mary was a devoted Christian woman who served in the women’s ministries at Arizona Community Church where she and Dell are members. She was strong in her walk with the Lord, witnessed and inspired all those around her. Mary enjoyed quilting with her ladies quilting group, scrapbooking, had a passion for traveling to numerous Countries including Israel, Italy, Norway (the Sivesind family farm) and numerous States. She loved spending time with her family, friends and spoiling her 4 grandchildren.
The celebration of Mary’s life service will be held at Arizona Community Church at 9325 South Rural Road, Tempe, Az 85284 on October 16
th
, 2023, at 10:30 AM.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in honor of Mary to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or City of Hope Hospital, both organizations that took extra special care of Maru and supplies numerous grants throughout her illness, links below.
