Gregg Barry Friedman

August 27, 1961 — March 10, 2025

Gregg Barry Friedman, 63, a beloved husband, father, Chiropractor, mentor and friend entered into Heaven on March 10, 2025, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on August 27, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York to David and Elaine Friedman, Gregg grew up with strong values and kindness which were traits he carried throughout his life. The Friedman family later moved to Arizona, seeking refuge from New York’s cold winters.

A devoted husband, Gregg shared 30 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jan. They had three children, Austin, Luke and Kenzie. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. His unwavering support, kindness, strength, and humor were the foundation of their family.

Gregg was a 2nd generation Chiropractor practicing in Phoenix, AZ since 1987. In addition to his practice, he taught documentation and coding for more than 25 years to Chiropractors nationwide. Gregg found a unique way to take the daunting task of teaching documentation and make it entertaining, engaging, and educational. Laughter could be heard coming from the room when Gregg was teaching a seminar as he would add his humor, along with movie clips, to get his message across to the attendees.

Gregg went on to create his own documentation software, BulletProof, which he later sold to ClinicMind. Gregg knew that teaming up with ClinicMind would preserve the integrity of his software if he were to succumb to cancer. Even after the sale, he continued his chiropractic practice and served as the Chief Chiropractic Officer for ClinicMind until his passing. Gregg often expressed his deep appreciation for his computer programmer, Daniela, whose skill and dedication transformed his vision into the Bulletproof software.

Gregg was honored to be a speaker for Parker University and developed many close relationships with everyone at Parker. Gregg said that Parker made his dreams come true by having him speak on behalf of their amazing organization. Gregg expanded his speaking by doing live and recorded seminars/classes for Chiro Credit. Gregg was also a long time user of the Activator Method and also did some educational speaking for Activator Method International. Both ChiroCredit and Activator Method International were companies that Gregg felt very blessed to be involved with.

As much as Gregg liked his public speaking, his favorite topic he liked to talk about was when he gave his life to Jesus and became a Christian. Gregg gave many talks about his conversion and his talks always had a fun title: “What’s A Nice Jewish Boy Doing Trading Hanukkah For Christmas?” “My Journey From Causal Jewish Faith to Radical Follower of Jesus Christ,” “A Jew Finds The Messiah,” “From Conservative Jewish Doctor to Jesus Freak.” Gregg attributes his conversion to the influence of Jan’s family. He said, “they just took me in and loved me. They didn’t preach to me. They just accepted this Jewish man and loved him.”

Gregg did not want to be defined by cancer so he did it “his way” and never told anyone about his diagnosis. Gregg got up everyday and lived his best life on his terms. Gregg was positive every single day, never complained throughout his extensive treatments, and never felt sorry for himself. The humor, courage, dignity and defiance he displayed towards cancer on his six year journey was beyond admirable.

Gregg fought a heroic battle with cancer and his family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Christopher Chen, Wai Wang, NP, Dr. Vasilena Zheleva, Dr. Saba Radhi, Dr. Marnee Spierer, chemo nurses Lisa and Sandy, and all the other medical personnel at City of Hope who were involved in Gregg’s case. The love and respect Gregg received from each individual at City of Hope was the greatest gift. Our family would also like to thank Amber and McKella at Hospice of the Valley for their excellent help in bringing Gregg home and making sure his medical needs were taken care of. Last, but definitely not least, we want to thank our cousin, Devin Brooks Moreno, for all the help, love, comfort, advice and guidance she gave throughout the last two months of Gregg’s life. We can never repay you for helping prepare us for Gregg’s passing.
