, 92, passed away February 16, 2019 in Chandler, AZ. He was born January 5, 1927 in Greybull, WY to Guy and Cora (Fouts) Beans. His family moved to Lexington, Nebraska in 1933 and he grew up there on the farm, graduating in 1946 from Lexington High School.
The day after graduation, he left for the service and spent one and half years as a paratrooper. On March 27, 1949, he married Patricia Zoe Anthony. In 1954 they moved to North Platte. After working several jobs at a time to make a living, they decided in 1967 to move to California. So they loaded up their four kids, a dog and a cat, and with $300 in their pockets, they left for California to make their fortune.
Testing dairy cows with a management program for the dairymen, they started with one herd and built the business up to a five state corporation. They moved to Chandler Arizona in 1985. In 1994, he turned the business over to the kids and retired.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Pat, four children: Michael Beans (Marilyn) in Monterey CA, Donald Beans in Portales NM, Susan Vega in Chandler AZ and Barbara Beans in Maricopa AZ. ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, brother Norman Beans (Marilyn) in Cozad NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Wilma May, two brothers, Guy Beans, Jr. and Richard Beans, and an infant brother.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held February 27
th
, 11:00 a.m. at Chandler Presbyterian Church in Chandler AZ.
