Edna (Ede) Whitmer Sirrine
81, of Arizona passed away May 2, 2016. Surrounded by family, she peacefully slipped into the loving arms of the Lord on Monday, May 2nd in Gilbert. An Arizona native, Ede was born October 21, 1934 in Joseph City, and spent a happy childhood playing in the forests surrounding her family’s cabin in Alpine.
Ede was an active member of the LDS church. She attended Mesa High School and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. She co-owned Bever Construction Company and Bever Silver and Jewelry with her husband Robert.
She loved to sing, play the guitar and dance, and found pure joy in watching her grandchildren do the same. She was a chef of extraordinary feasts, an entertaining tour guide on fantastic adventures, a supportive and enthusiastic cheerleader, a patient (and fearless) driving instructor, and a trusted assistant to Santa Claus. She was generous, determined and fierce in her support for her loved ones.
Ede was proceeded in death by husbands G.Kent Sirrine, and Robert L Bever. She is remembered with love by her brother John Whitmer and sister Margaret Flake, her children Robert Paul Bever (Donna Mortensen), Michael Jess Bever (Julie Curry) & Cathy Charlene Bever(Jesse Martin Taylor III), her 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday May 14th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2707 South College Avenue Tempe AZ 85282. Visitation is from 9:00 to 10:30 am with light refreshments, Services at 11:00 am, followed by Interment at Mesa City Cemetery. Arrangements by Bueler Chandler Mortuary, 14 W.
