It is with deep sadness that we are writing of the passing of Ed Galapeaux on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Honor Health Shea Medical Center, Scottsdale, AZ. Ed was the son of Dr. Edward Albert Galapeaux and Margaret “Peggy” Lister Galapeaux of Chicago. He was 81 at his passing.
He is survived by his sister, Susan Galapeaux Lake of Scottsdale, and his son, Daniel “Dan” Galapeaux. Ed was born and raised in the Chicago area, graduated from Northwestern Dental School in 1965. He had a dental practice in Chicago, then relocated to Bloomington, IL where he remained for several years. He and his family decided they didn’t like the cold weather so they moved to Tucson, AZ in 1975 where he practiced dentistry for over 40 years. Ed retired to Scottsdale to live with his son for the rest of his days.
He was quite the sports fan. Ed enjoyed football the most, basketball, and disc golf. He was an avid golfer (At one time he only had a 3-handicap!). He loved chatting about sporting events with family and friends, as well as watching them on TV.
He was dearly loved for his witty humor and kind gentle ways. He had a brilliant mind and unique personality that endeared him to everyone who knew him. He will truly be missed.
