Dorothy C. Grunsby

Dorothy C. Grunsby, age 85, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 after a long illness. She was born June 5, 1939 in Cape Broyle, Newfoundland, Canada to Michael and Rita O’Brien. She married the love of her life, Frederick Grunsby on October 27,1962 in Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada.

Dot loved to travel. She lived in and traveled all over Europe. She loved doing kind things for others, and most of all loved her family. She was very proud to be a Newfoundlander. She was a dedicated wife and treasured her children and grandchildren.

Dot is survived by her husband, Fred Grunsby, daughter, Cindy Daering (Scott), granddaughter Chelsea Peters (John), Tiffanie Welsh, and great grandchildren, Emerson, Hollie, Allie and Weston Slade. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth (Ed), Marie (Brian) and brothers, Stan (Peg), Felix and Reggie along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death are her mom and dad, Rita and Michael, her beloved son Brien, sister Shirley and brothers, Ronnie, Vince, Gerry and Tom.

Dot had many friends, too many to mention. Three in particular would be her dear friend Dee Phillips, Mary Sand and Esther Zahnow.

Dot will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. One day we will all be together again.

At a later date a Celebration of Life will be held in Canada.
