Doris Poole

passed away peacefully on November 1, 2017 in Gilbert, AZ. Born February 1, 1928 in Nahunta, GA, Doris is preceded by her parents Reddick Thornton and Lucinda Griffin, her brothers and sisters: Geneva, Lorraine, Reddick, Lonnie and Carol. While helping with sister Lorraine’s family in Ohio, Doris met and married a returning WWII navy veteran Donald Poole. Their marriage produced five children: Cheryl, Donald Edward, Bill, Jean and Nancy; seven grandchildren: Walter Blue, Angie, Jody, Michael, Alex, Brian and Shyler; and fourteen great grandchildren: Grace, Julien, Kaitlin, Aiden, Zach, Taylor, Sierra, Amaria, Donovan, Olivia, Gideon, Annabella, Jacob and Joseph. Doris will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a loving wife. Doris could tenderly care for a sick child, cut firewood, bait a fishing hook or cook a gourmet meal, she literally could do it all. We all loved her very much and are comforted knowing the Lord will welcome her with open arms.
