Donna Jean Carson Hendrickson
was born July 19, 1936 in Gallup New Mexico to Viola Cherry and Richard Wesley Carson. She was the youngest in the family with three older brothers: Richard William Carson, Raymond David Carson and Bernard Carson. She married Donald Clayton Hendrickson June 3, 1953 in Holbrook Arizona. They have six children: Laurie Gay Christensen, Donald Joe Hendrickson, Richard John Hendrickson, Susan Joy Luttrell, Jared Carson Hendrickson, Scott Aaron Hendrickson. She is survived by her husband, Donald, their six children, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and her brother Richard Carson.
Her childhood was spent on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona and New Mexico, living in many different trading posts. Donna attended elementary school in Window Rock Arizona, latter attending the catholic boarding school and finishing High School in Gallup New Mexico.
Donna spent her life in service to her family and church. She served as a board member for the Rehobath Hospital, was a life-time member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, serving as chaplain and then as camp captain for 8 years. Donna was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many position over the years including Relief Society President, Seminary Teacher, Young Women’s leader and coordinated numerous Ward and Stake dinners. She will be remembered for her quick wit and love and dedication to her family.
