Donald Clifton Birdsall Sr.
, 85, of Gilbert, AZ, passed away on November 11, 2018 (Veteran’s Day). He was born on October 12, 1933 to Clifton Sanford Birdsall and Leta Leila Bearss in Springfield Ontario, Canada.
He retired from the US Air Force in 1979, after serving 26 years as a Master Sargeant.
After retiring from the Air Force he flew for Saudi Arabian Airlines, Japan Airlines, and Tower Airlines.
Don loved hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Alice; his sons Don Jr.(Gina) of Harrisburg, NC and Bo of Concord, NC, and sons Michael Illies, Steven Illies, and Elizabeth Miller (Joe) all of Gilbert, AZ.
He is survived by 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Mary Williams and Helen Gianoudis.
Burial service with full military honors will take place on November 15, 2018 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ
