Charles William "Bill" Day

Charles William “Bill” Day passed away on October 18th, 2024. 

Bill was born on October 13th, 1939, to parents Charles and Bernice Day in Gillette, Wyoming and lived a vibrant life marked by his love of family and active engagement in a variety of interests. While attending high school in Edgemont, South Dakota, Bill met the love of his life, Brenda Mae (Lenhart) Day. After graduating high school, Bill enlisted and served honorably in the Marine Corps from 1959 to 1962, embracing the challenges and responsibilities with the same vigor he applied to all aspects of his life. During his service, he eloped with Brenda and the adventure of Bill and Brenda began. After graduating college, Bill embarked on a successful career in sales and management at Johnson and Johnson that lasted 30 years. 

Bill and Brenda moved all over the country with Bill’s job and had three daughters along the way: Diane, Laurel, and Erin. Whether it was being with his family, working at Johnson and Johnson, playing golf, riding bicycles, flying planes, or whatever hobby or activity Bill took on, he did so with absolute gusto and a joy of life. In retirement, he was President of the Johnson and Johnson Western Region Retiree Club, and he also started the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop Mall in Payson, Arizona. 

Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Brenda, their daughters Diane Stamp (Mike) of Chandler, AZ, Laurel Lawton (Troy) of Phoenix, AZ, and Erin Tutay (Daniel) of Flagstaff, AZ; siblings Nick Day (Connie), Kathy Faulkner (Emmet), Toby Day (June); four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends. 

Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Janice Stratman (Art). 

Visitation for Bill will be held on November 5th at 6:00pm, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00pm at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225. A Funeral Service will be conducted on November 6th at 10:00am at St. Steven’s Catholic Church, 24827 S. Dobson Road, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248.
