Brent Alan Farnsworth, age 70, of Chandler, AZ, passed away on December 26th, 2024, after bravely battling complications following open heart surgery. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose selflessness, humor, generosity, and unwavering integrity left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Born on December 31st, 1953, in Brigham City, UT, to Joe and Colleen Farnsworth, Brent's life was defined by his love for family and his dedication to those around him. He graduated from Box Elder High School, where he excelled in sports and academics. He continued his education at the University of Utah where he graduated with honors.

He married the love of his life, Janet, and they shared 40 years of laughter, love, and partnership. Brent's unwavering devotion to Janet stood as a testament to the depth of his character, and together they built a beautiful family.

Brent was the proud father of Jill (Kyle) Kofoed, Colton Farnsworth, and Katelyn (James) Bingaman, and he cherished his role as a grandfather to Tanner Kofoed and Hallie (Porter) Hansen. His family was his greatest joy, and his life was filled with moments of wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering love for each of them.

Brent’s professional journey began as a bagger at Smith's Grocery Store, where his hard work and dedication quickly earned him recognition. Over the years, he advanced through numerous management and executive roles at Smith’s and Kroger, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, hard work, and integrity. He retired in 2019, having earned the respect of colleagues, clients, and customers throughout his career.

In addition to his career, Brent had a deep love of books and reading, often escaping into a good story. He was an avid player of games, whether it was with family, friends, or in quiet moments. He also enjoyed walking and spent time outdoors, embracing the beauty of nature. His love for sports and movies brought him joy, and he took great pleasure in the entertainment these brought into his life. Brent also had a soft spot for his dogs, showing them endless love and care.

Brent’s sense of humor was legendary, and he had a rare ability to bring laughter and light into any room. His selflessness, compassion, and kindness will be remembered, and his legacy of love, faith, and humor will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Brent is survived by his loving wife, Janet Farnsworth; daughters, Jill (Kyle) Kofoed, Katelyn (James) Bingaman; son, Colton Farnsworth; grandchildren, Tanner Kofoed and Hallie (Porter) Hansen; siblings, Connie (Marston) Nelson, Bob Farnsworth, Kevin (Leslie) Farnsworth, and Blaine (Laurie) Farnsworth. He was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Ann Farnsworth, his parents, Joe and Colleen Farnsworth, and father-in-law, Ronald Ward Halbert, Sr.

A celebration of Brent’s life will be held on January 18th, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the West Layton Ward 752 North 3700 West Layton, Utah 84041. Family and friends are invited to gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who embodied all that is good in life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the GoFundMe in his honor, and that your Christmas lights always shine bright in Brent’s memory.

Brent’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved. His memory will continue to brighten the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
