Betty Jean Bunker Parker, 84, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 25, 2016. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart, Morris W. Parker and granddaughter, Kristin B Parker as well as her parents, William Lang Bunker and Ida Morris Bunker, and many of her 12 siblings. Betty is survived by her children Linda Parker, Susan Parker, Janet Heywood, Alan Parker, Sandra Brown and Beverly McCarter, 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Betty was born in Sutherland, Utah on a farm that provided many wonderful childhood memories. She graduated valedictorian of her high school class and continued her education at the University of Utah attaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1953.  Betty served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the San Antonio, Texas Spanish speaking mission and developed a great love for the people, as well as Mexican food.

Betty and Morris were sealed in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple in 1957 and started their wonderful life together raising six children in a busy home filled with love. Betty’s love and service to family, church, and neighbors will always be remembered and treasured for generations to come. She accomplished more in her life despite significant physical limitations than many people do who enjoy full health. Her courage, determination, and grace in spite of trials are an inspiration to all who know and love her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5

at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 848 N Westwood Mesa, AZ 85201 at 10:00 am with a viewing at 9:00 am before the services begin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Missionary or Perpetual Education Fund.
