Bennie John Bua, 62, died December 22 of Covid-19 in Chandler Regional Hospital. He was born in Tucson, AZ April 12, 1959, to Tony and Cathy Bua.
He graduated from Chandler High in 1977 and earned his B.A. from ASU in 1981.
Bennie was known far and wide for his role in the family business, Cathy’s Rum Cake Caterers. Over the years, he helped each store with cake delivery. Gregarious and creative, “Bennie had a kind, generous
heart,” his mother says. “We were so proud of him.” His wife Cynthia echoes the sentiment. “Bennie loved people. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed every time he handed over every cake we made.”
